Pronounced el-HAHM, it's a Persian word that means inspiration and revelation, often described as an intuitive insight that arrives on its own rather than one you go looking for. It carries a sense of inner wisdom and spiritual awareness that doesn't translate neatly into a single English word.

Castor Oil is Liquid Gold

We call castor oil liquid gold for its radiant hue and timeless legacy. That legacy is well documented: castor oil appears throughout the Ebers Papyrus, an Egyptian medical text dating to 1550 BCE and one of the oldest medical documents ever discovered, and it has long been part of Ayurvedic tradition as well. Rich, golden, and deeply restorative, castor oil invites flow where there is stagnation, softness where there is tension, and glow where there is dullness.

What To Look For When Choosing Castor Oil

Prioritize quality and purity to ensure the best results for your health and wellness. This is what to look for:

  1. Organic: grown without harmful pesticides or synthetic chemicals that can carry over into the final oil.
  2. Cold-Pressed: to preserve the nutrients and ensure the oil hasn’t been exposed to high heat during extraction.
  3. Hexane-Free: no residual solvent left behind. Hexane is a petroleum byproduct used to extract more oil per batch cheaply, and it has no business in a bottle you put on your skin.
  4. Dark Glass Packaging: tprotects the oil from light and oxidation, the two things that break down its potency fastest.
